The Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) has officially confirmed the cancellation of the international friendly match between Morocco and Taifa Stars, which was scheduled to be played on October 5, 2026, in Morocco.
According to a statement issued by TFF Director of Information and Communications Cliford Mario Ndimbo, the decision was made following a medical report from the Taifa Stars medical team confirming that five players currently in camp in Tangier have suffered injuries that will prevent them from taking part in the match.
The decision to cancel the game was reached following consultations and an agreement with Taifa Stars head coach Miguel Gamondi, while the players and technical bench have already been informed of the decision.
Taifa Stars had travelled to Morocco with 23 players for their 2027 AFCON qualifying match against Madagascar, which was played in Meknès on September 29, 2026.
The team was then scheduled to remain in Morocco for the FIFA international friendly against the hosts.
The official statement was issued and signed by Cliford Mario Ndimbo on October 3, 2026, formally confirming the cancellation of the match.
