KIGALI, RWANDA, President of the Rwanda Football Federation (FERWAFA), Fabrice Shema, has resigned from his position after approximately one year in office.
Shema was elected FERWAFA President in August 2025, taking charge of Rwanda’s football governing body during a period of continued development in the country’s football.
His resignation now raises questions about the reasons behind the decision and the challenges he faced during his time in office. However, the official reasons for his departure have yet to be confirmed by FERWAFA or Shema himself.
The next step will be the process of appointing his successor in accordance with FERWAFA’s regulations.
