Yanga SC President and Chairman, Engineer Hersi Said, has acknowledged that the club has lost a great and important leader following the death of Yanga Board of Trustees member Mama Fatma Karume, who passed away on September 21, 2026.
Hersi said Mama Karume will be remembered for her many contributions to Yanga, including her involvement in securing the land on which the club’s headquarters building at Jangwani in Dar es Salaam stands.
“This is a great loss for us. We have lost a great leader who was wise, thoughtful and had great love for her club,” Hersi said.
The Yanga leadership under Hersi has conveyed its condolences to Mama Karume’s family, relatives and friends, while praying for them to be given strength and resilience during this difficult period of mourning.
