Premier League champions Arsenal suffered their first defeat of the season after losing 3-0 to Brighton & Hove Albion in a Premier League match played at the Amex Stadium on Saturday.
Brighton showed their intent to claim all three points early on and opened the scoring in the 31st minute through Pascal Gross, who made it 1-0.
The hosts continued to trouble Arsenal and doubled their advantage in the 45th minute through Charalampos Kostoulas, sending Brighton into the break with a 2-0 lead.
After the restart, Brighton continued to exploit Arsenal’s weaknesses and added a third goal in the 57th minute through Chema Andres to complete a 3-0 victory.
The result ended Arsenal’s winning start to the Premier League season, while Brighton climbed to third place with 10 points from five matches.

Brentford scored all three goals in the second half. Jaidon Anthony opened the scoring in the 61st minute before Igor Thiago doubled the lead in the 83rd minute. Striker Fábio Carvalho completed the scoring in stoppage time.
Saturday, September 19
Tottenham Hotspur 2-3 Aston Villa
Aston Villa opened the scoring through Johan Manzambi in the 45+4th minute. Tottenham equalised through Mohammed Kudus in the 60th minute, but Villa responded with goals from Nicolas Jackson in the 67th minute and Emiliano Buendía in the 80th. Tottenham pulled one back through Conor Gallagher in the 86th minute, before Jan Paul van Hecke scored a second in the 90+7th minute.
Everton 1-0 Ipswich Town
Thierno Barry scored the only goal of the match in the 11th minute to give Everton a 1-0 victory.
Newcastle United 2-1 Hull City
Newcastle made a fast start, scoring twice within seven minutes. Joe Willock opened the scoring in the third minute before Lewis Hall added a second in the seventh. Hull pulled one back through Mohamed-Ali Cho in the 67th minute, but Newcastle held on for the victory.
Brighton’s victory made Saturday a difficult day for Arsenal, who left the Amex without scoring despite enjoying 60 percent possession.
