Sandaland Fashion Wear Limited is reportedly preparing to take legal action following remarks by Tanzania’s Minister for Information, Culture, Arts and Sports, Paul Makonda, concerning the process surrounding the new national team kits.
The development comes after the Ministry issued a statement on September 18, 2026, saying it did not recognise the launch of the new national team kits because the process to replace them did not involve the Ministry, despite directives issued by Minister Makonda in February this year.
According to the Ministry’s statement, Makonda intends to establish a special committee to investigate the contract with the national team kit supplier, as well as the commercial opportunities from kit sales that could contribute to the running of the national teams funded by the Government.
The matter has now sparked debate over the process of producing and selling Tanzania’s national team kits, with the next steps expected to provide further clarification on the contract and how the parties involved will address the differences that have emerged.
