Pyramids FC, under head coach Rhulani Mokwena, have continued their impressive start to the Egyptian Premier League after beating ENPPI 2-1, a victory that took their tally to 15 points and kept them top of the table after five matches.
Pyramids had to come from behind after ENPPI took an early lead, before Nasser Maher equalised and Walid El Karti scored the winning goal in the 87th minute. The victory means Pyramids have won all five of their league matches so far.
In the CAF Champions League, Pyramids have also produced strong performances after beating Kenya’s Gor Mahia 2-0 in the first leg in Nairobi before securing a 5-1 victory in the return leg in Cairo. The results gave them a 7-1 aggregate victory and sent them through to the next stage.
Mokwena, who previously worked on the coaching staff at Mamelodi Sundowns, is now continuing to lead Pyramids in both domestic and continental competition. The club sit top of the league with 15 points, followed by Zamalek and Al Ahly, who have 13 points each.
