Manchester United have been knocked out of the EFL Cup after losing 3-2 to Brighton & Hove Albion in a third-round clash at Old Trafford.
United made a fast start, scoring twice within 10 minutes through Shea Lacey in the 8th minute and Mason Mount in the 10th minute, but Brighton refused to give up.
Charalampos Kostoulas pulled one back before half-time, before Pascal Groß equalised in the 65th minute. Four minutes later, Maxim De Cuyper completed Brighton’s comeback with the third goal. (Sky Sports)
The result sends Manchester United out of the EFL Cup in the third round, while Brighton advance to the Round of 16.
For United, the difficult start to the season continues. They have collected just four points from a possible 12 in the Premier League and have now also been eliminated from the EFL Cup.
