CAF President Dr. Patrice Motsepe is expected to arrive in Tanzania tomorrow, September 17, 2026, for a visit focused on inspecting the country’s preparations for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
During the visit, Motsepe will join CAF officials in inspecting the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium, as well as reviewing the progress made in preparations for the tournament, which will be hosted in East Africa.
According to the TFF, Motsepe is also expected to meet with the Chairman of the National AFCON 2027 Organizing Committee, Prime Minister Dr. Mwigulu Nchemba, together with other officials involved in the tournament preparations.
As part of his visit, the CAF President will inspect various areas of the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium to assess the progress of infrastructure preparations and ensure that the facilities are being developed in line with the requirements for AFCON 2027.
Motsepe will be accompanied by several CAF and CECAFA officials, including Kurt Okraku, Feizal Sidat, Paulos Andemariam Weldehaimanot, and Samson Adamu.
The visit is expected to be an important part of the ongoing monitoring of Tanzania’s preparations for AFCON 2027, with the country set to be among the hosts of the continental tournament.
