Simba SC will be without striker Libasse Guèye when they face Malawi’s Mighty Wanderers in the first leg of the CAF Champions League preliminary round at Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe.
Guèye will miss the match while serving a suspension stemming from the red card he received last season during a group-stage match against Angola’s Petro Atlético. His absence adds another challenge for Simba as they prepare for the important continental fixture.
Mighty Wanderers, meanwhile, are one of Malawi’s most historic football clubs. Founded in 1962 in Blantyre, the club is among the oldest in the country and have won the Malawi Super League title seven times.
Wanderers will also enter the match with changes on the touchline after parting ways with head coach Bob Mpinganjira just days before the fixture. The club has since appointed an interim coach to lead the team against Simba.
