Football analyst Salumu Mnolela has said Yanga SC’s decision to use renowned transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano to unveil the club’s new international kit for the 2026/27 season is not something new in Tanzanian football.
Mnolela pointed out that Tanzanian clubs have previously involved internationally recognised figures in activities aimed at promoting their brands. He cited Simba SC, which in 2020 involved former Barcelona and Spain defender Gerard Piqué in an activity connected to the club.
He explained that using high-profile international names in club marketing and product launches is part of commercial strategies designed to increase a club’s visibility and appeal in the global market.
Based on this, Mnolela urged fans and football stakeholders to view Yanga’s decision to involve Fabrizio Romano as part of the commercial rivalry and brand-building competition between Yanga and Simba.
