Tanzania international midfielder Alphonce Mabula Msanga has finally emerged at Algerian club JS Kabylie after being strongly linked with Tanzanian champions Yanga SC during the previous transfer window.
The 23-year-old has joined JS Kabylie as a free agent after his contract with Azerbaijani club Shamaxi FK expired at the end of June 2026.
Reports from Algeria indicate that Mabula has signed a three-year contract with the Tizi Ouzou-based club.
The transfer was completed on the final day of Algeria's transfer window, with JS Kabylie beating several other clubs interested in signing the midfielder.
Yanga Wanted Mabula
Before his move to Algeria, Mabula's name was a major talking point in Tanzania's transfer window after Yanga opened talks to bring the midfielder back home.
Reports in July indicated that Yanga had begun negotiations with Mabula, with the club looking to strengthen its defensive midfield department. At the time, Mabula had just ended his contract with Shamaxi and was available as a free agent.
However, subsequent reports suggested that the negotiations failed to produce an agreement due to financial differences. Mabula's camp was reportedly seeking a transfer package estimated at around Sh1.5 billion, along with a monthly salary of approximately $14,000, while Yanga's offer was said to be above Sh600 million but did not meet the player's demands.
Before the Yanga deal faded, Mabula had also been linked with Turkish club Kasimpasa, with earlier reports indicating that the club was closely monitoring his situation.
