Yanga continued their dominance in the NBC Premier League today, beating Pamba Jiji 2-0 in a match played at KMC Complex.
It was a tough 90 minutes for Pamba Jiji, who will be grateful to their goalkeeper for preventing them from leaving the match on the end of a heavy defeat.
Yanga scored both goals in the first half. Striker Cheick Ibrahima Toure provided the assist for the opening goal, scored by Maxi Nzengeli, before getting on the scoresheet himself with a finish from Peter Shalulile's cross.
Yanga had opportunities to add more goals, particularly in the second half, but Pamba Jiji's goalkeeper produced several strong saves, while a lack of composure from Yanga's forwards prevented the Wananchi from securing a more convincing victory.
Striker Seleman Mwalimu came on in the second half to replace Toure and could have opened his scoring account had he made better use of the two chances he created during the match.
The victory sends Yanga back to the top of the league standings, as they continue to distinguish themselves with their impressive goalscoring record.
