NBC Premier League defending champions Yanga SC continued their winning run in emphatic fashion after thrashing JKT Tanzania 4-0 in a match played on Monday at KMC Complex in Mwenge, Dar es Salaam.
Yanga dominated for much of the match, with the Jangwani side producing impressive football from the opening minute and putting their opponents under constant pressure. JKT Tanzania appeared outmatched tactically in almost every department.
Yanga opened the scoring in the 28th minute through their talented attacking midfielder Albert Kangwanda, who finished off a rebound after a shot from Chadrack Boka struck the crossbar.
JKT Tanzania tried to reorganise, but defensive errors allowed centre-back Ibrahim Bacca to head home Yanga's second goal in the 34th minute following a cross from Zakouani.
Before JKT Tanzania could recover, full-back Chadrack Boka added a third goal in the 38th minute, finishing a pass from Kangwanda. Despite scoring, Kangwanda also provided two assists and was named Man of the Match.
The second half began at a more measured pace, with JKT Tanzania working hard to prevent the flood of goals from continuing. However, in the 63rd minute, striker Peter Shalulile completed the rout by scoring Yanga's fourth goal after receiving the final pass from Kangwanda.
The victory sends Yanga back to the top of the NBC Premier League standings and underlines their determination to defend the title this season. For JKT Tanzania, the heavy defeat leaves them in a difficult position and in need of a strong response in their upcoming matches.
