Simba SC are in the final stages of completing the signing of Nigerian international midfielder Ibraheem Jabaar from South African club Stellenbosch FC.
Reports indicate that initial agreements between Simba SC and the player have already been finalized, with Jabaar expected to arrive in Tanzania soon to complete his official transfer.
Sources within the club suggest that the 23-year-old has been offered a two-year contract that would keep him at Simba until 2028, provided all formalities are completed as planned.
The move is said to have been influenced by head coach Steve Barker, who is familiar with the player’s abilities from their previous working relationship.
Barker reportedly believes Jabaar can significantly strengthen Simba’s midfield ahead of the 2026/27 season due to his tactical understanding and familiarity with the system of play.
Jabaar left Stellenbosch as a free agent after failing to agree on a contract extension. During his time at the club, he made over 140 appearances, scoring six goals and providing seven assists.
He is capable of playing as a central midfielder, attacking midfielder, and left winger, giving the coach greater flexibility in the attacking setup.
