Yanga, Simba, Azam FC and Singida BS Seal CAF Qualification for 2026/27 Season

Following the completion of Matchweek 28 fixtures, Yanga, Simba SC, Azam FC and Singida Black Stars have effectively secured qualification for CAF interclub competitions for the 2026/27 season.

Yanga's emphatic 3-0 victory over Azam FC lifted them to 69 points, a tally that can only be matched by second-placed Simba in the remaining matches of the season.

Meanwhile, Simba's 3-0 win over Mtibwa Sugar took the Msimbazi Reds to 67 points, a total that no team below them can reach.

As a result, Tanzania's two football giants have officially secured places in next season's CAF Champions League.

The battle between them in the final two matches will now determine who lifts the NBC Premier League title, with Yanga holding a valuable two-point advantage.

Despite their 3-0 defeat to Yanga, Azam FC have mathematically secured third place in the league standings with 58 points.

No team below them can reach that points total. Singida Black Stars are in a similar position after defeating Tanzania Prisons 3-1 to move onto 50 points, securing their place among the league's top four.

While the race for continental qualification has been settled, the battle at the bottom of the table remains intense. Six teams are still at risk of relegation or being forced into the relegation play-offs.

Tanzania Prisons currently occupy 15th place with 26 points, while Mashujaa FC sit in 10th position with 30 points, highlighting just how tight the relegation fight remains heading into the final rounds of the season.
