Football authorities in Zanzibar have cancelled the international friendly match between the Zanzibar national team, Zanzibar Heroes, and Uganda, which was scheduled to be played on Thursday at the New Amaan Complex.
According to an official statement released earlier today, the match has been called off due to health-related concerns.
It is noted that Uganda is currently dealing with an Ebola outbreak, which has raised safety concerns around international sporting activities involving the country.
This is not the first fixture affected, as a previously planned friendly between Tanzania and Uganda in Morocco was also cancelled, along with other matches, due to the same health situation.
