Former Kaizer Chiefs coach Cedric Kaze has continued his career in South Africa after being appointed head coach of Sekhukhune United on a one-year contract.
The move marks a new chapter in Kaze’s coaching journey in South African football following his departure from Kaizer Chiefs, where he served in the technical bench last season.
His journey at Kaizer Chiefs
Kaze joined Kaizer Chiefs as part of the technical team, working alongside Khalil Ben Youssef, after head coach Nasreddine Nabi left due to family-related challenges.
The duo worked together in an effort to stabilize and improve the squad, eventually helping Chiefs finish the season in third place in the South African Premier Soccer League (PSL), securing qualification for the CAF Champions League.
Success with Yanga
Before moving to South Africa, Kaze and Ben Youssef were part of the technical bench at Young Africans SC under Nabi, where they played a key role in the club’s major successes.
During the 2022/23 season, they helped Yanga win all domestic trophies as well as reach the CAF Confederation Cup final, establishing their reputation in East African football.
Now at Sekhukhune United, Kaze is expected to be tasked with maintaining the club’s competitiveness in the PSL and improving its results against South Africa’s top teams.
