New Liverpool FC head coach Andoni Iraola has outlined his ambition to rebuild the team into a highly competitive side, promising major changes ahead of the upcoming season.
Iraola, who joined from AFC Bournemouth, says his main goal is to restore Liverpool’s identity of fast-paced football, high pressing, and direct attacking play that has long been associated with the club.
Speaking in one of his first interviews at Anfield, Iraola emphasized that he does not intend to introduce gradual changes, but instead wants the team to be competitive immediately while maximizing the talent already available in the squad.
The Spanish coach believes Liverpool already possesses a strong squad capable of competing at the highest level, requiring only minor tactical adjustments to return to title-winning form in England and Europe.
Iraola has already begun assessing his new squad, identifying key areas that need reinforcement, particularly in defence and midfield, as he prepares to work closely with the club’s recruitment department in the upcoming transfer window.
