Simba Crush Mashujaa FC to Intensify Title Race

Simba SC continued to show their strength in the race for the league title after securing an emphatic 3-0 victory over Mashujaa FC in a Tanzania Mainland Premier League match played at Lake Tanganyika Stadium in Kigoma.

The “Mnyama” entered the match with one clear mission — to collect all three points — and they wasted no time showing their quality. In just the fifth minute, creative midfielder Clatous Chama gave Simba an early lead with a direct corner kick that beat the Mashujaa FC goalkeeper.

After the opening goal, Simba continued to dominate the match while Mashujaa FC struggled to cope with the pace and tactics of the Msimbazi Reds. Simba’s constant attacks forced the home side to spend most of the game defending deep inside their own half.

By halftime, Simba held a 1-0 advantage as their supporters enjoyed an impressive display from the team.

The second half began with the same intensity from Simba, and once again it was Chama who found the back of the net with a powerful strike from just outside the penalty area. The goal further highlighted the midfielder’s outstanding form, as he has now scored in four consecutive league matches and reached eight league goals this season.

The third and final goal came in the closing stages through Suleiman Mwalimu, who finished calmly after receiving a fine assist from Neo Maema to complete a perfect night for Simba.

The victory moves Simba to 52 points in the league standings, just two points behind rivals Young Africans SC (Yanga) in the fierce battle for the Tanzania Mainland Premier League title.

Meanwhile, Clatous Chama once again stole the spotlight after winning the Man of the Match award for the fourth consecutive game, underlining his excellent form for Simba.

Earlier in the day, other league matches saw Mtibwa Sugar defeat KMC 4-3 in an entertaining seven-goal thriller, while Tanzania Prisons secured a 1-0 victory over Fountain Gate to boost their hopes of avoiding relegation.
