Simba SC Prepares for Key NBC League Clash Against Coastal Union

The Simba squad is training at Mo Simba Arena in preparation for their Premier League match against Coastal Union, scheduled for Thursday, April 2, at Meja Jenerali Isamuhyo Stadium.

This is one of two “catch-up” matches Simba must play to complete the first-round fixtures.

The other first-round match, against TRA United, has not yet been rescheduled after it was initially postponed at Sheikh Amri Abeid Stadium due to flooding.

Simba returned to training on Friday to prepare for this game, which they must win to close the points gap against rivals Yanga.

Currently, Simba sits second in the league standings with 31 points, seven behind Yanga, who have 38. If Simba wins both of these catch-up matches, the points gap would shrink to just one.

Coastal Union is one of the most unpredictable teams when facing Simba. Last season, they earned a point at KMC Complex before suffering a 3-0 defeat in the second-round match at Mkwakwani Stadium, Tanga.

Under coach Steve Barker, Simba has maintained strong form at home, with their last match seeing them thrash TRA United 3-0.

Since Barker joined Simba in late December 2025, the “Wekundu wa Msimbazi” have drawn only one home game, a 1-1 stalemate against Mtibwa Sugar.
