Simba SC have failed to capitalize on their rivals Yanga’s result after being held to a 1-1 draw by Pamba Jiji in a Premier League match at CCM Kirumba Stadium.
Yesterday, Yanga were held to a goalless draw by TRA United, raising hopes among Simba fans that their team could reduce the points gap in the league standings.
Anicet Oura gave Simba the lead with a well-taken goal in the 33rd minute, but Pamba Jiji responded just three minutes later, with James Mwashinga scoring from a powerful free-kick that beat Simba goalkeeper Djibril Kaseja.
Despite dominating large parts of the game, Simba were unable to break down Pamba Jiji’s defense, and the match ended in a draw.
In another league fixture, Mashujaa FC faced Azam FC at Lake Tanganyika Stadium in Kigoma, with the match also ending in a goalless draw.
These results have led to minimal changes in the league standings, with Azam FC remaining in second place while Simba move up to third.
