Yanga strengthened their position at the top of the league table after defeating Tanzania Prisons 1–0 in a match played at Jamhuri Stadium in Dodoma.
Striker Laurindo Aurelio was the difference-maker, scoring in the 78th minute after finishing a rebound from goalkeeper Moussa Mbissa following a free-kick shot by Allan Okello.
Depu came on in the second half and needed only about 10 minutes to score the decisive goal in a match where Tanzania Prisons mainly focused on defending their goal.
It was largely a one-sided contest, with Yanga dominating possession for most of the game, though breaking through the Prisons defense proved difficult until Depu’s goal.
The victory gives Yanga three important points, taking their total to 35 points and keeping them firmly at the top of the league table with a seven-point lead.
