FC Barcelona 3–0 Atletico Madrid (Agg 3–4): Brave Win Not Enough at Camp Nou

On the night of March 3, 2026, Camp Nou hosted a thrilling and intense clash between FC Barcelona and Atlético Madrid in the second leg of the Copa del Rey semi-final.

Barcelona secured a 3-0 victory, but the result was not enough to send them to the final, as Atlético Madrid progressed with a 4-3 aggregate win following their 4-0 triumph in the first leg.

Barcelona started aggressively, determined to revive their hopes of a comeback. The opening goal came in the 29th minute through youngster Marc Bernal, who finished neatly inside the penalty area to spark wild celebrations among the home fans.

The pressure continued until the end of the first half, and Barcelona were awarded a penalty in stoppage time (45+5). Raphinha stepped up and calmly converted to make it 2-0 before the break.

The second half saw attacking intent from both sides, but Barcelona maintained greater momentum. In the 72nd minute, Marc Bernal scored his second goal of the night, completing his brace and reigniting belief inside Camp Nou that a miracle comeback was possible.

However, despite relentless late pressure and wave after wave of attacks, Barcelona could not find the crucial fourth goal needed to level the aggregate score. Atlético Madrid displayed tremendous defensive resilience to protect their first-leg advantage.

With a 4-3 aggregate victory, Atlético Madrid advance to the Copa del Rey final, while Barcelona exit the competition with a spirited but ultimately insufficient win.

Atlético coach Diego Simeone praised his team’s discipline and resilience across both legs. Meanwhile, Barcelona manager Hansi Flick said his squad showed fighting spirit and described the 3-0 win as a sign of a promising future for the club.
