Approximately 45,900 fans are expected to attend the decisive CAF Champions League Group B match between Al Ahly and AS FAR. The fixture will be played at the Cairo International Stadium in Egypt on Sunday, February 15, with Al Ahly hosting.
Egyptian football authorities, in coordination with the Confederation of African Football (CAF), have approved that number of spectators for the high-stakes encounter, taking security considerations into account due to the magnitude and competitiveness of the match.
Although Al Ahly only need at least one point to secure top spot in Group B, their approach to the game is expected to be intense. This is largely due to incidents that occurred during the first-leg meeting in Morocco, where Al Ahly players and officials reportedly faced disturbances โ events that later led to AS FAR being barred from admitting fans in their matches against JS Kabylie and Yanga.
A victory for Al Ahly is the result Yangaโs supporters โ Wananchi โ are hoping for, as it would boost their chances of qualifying for the quarter-finals.
However, Yanga must first win their own match against JS Kabylie to benefit from a potential Al Ahly victory.
