Azam FC Strengthen League Push with 2–0 Victory Over TRA United

Azam FC continued to strengthen their momentum in the Tanzania Mainland Premier League after securing a 2–0 victory against TRA United in a match played on Thursday night, January 29, 2026, at the Azam Complex Stadium.

In the match, Azam FC displayed a high level of discipline and sharp focus, dominating large areas of the pitch against TRA United, who attempted to defend deeply and launch counterattacks.

Jean Ngita gave Azam FC the lead by scoring the opening goal in the first half, making good use of an opportunity inside the danger area. In the second half, Idd Nado sealed the victory by netting the second goal, completely extinguishing TRA United’s hopes of an equalizer.

The win saw Azam FC reach 16 points, a result that pushed them up to fifth place in the league standings, level on points with Simba SC, who earlier the same day recorded a 2–0 victory over Mashujaa FC.

With these results, competition at the top of the league table remains intense as teams continue to battle for favorable positions heading into the next phase of the season.

Following this league match, Azam FC will now shift their focus to the Confederation Cup, where they are set to take on Nairobi United on Sunday, February 1, in a match scheduled to be played at the New Amaan Complex Stadium. The encounter is crucial for Azam FC as they pursue a place in the quarterfinals.
