Coastal Union Close to Signing Former TP Mazembe Striker Thomas Ulimwengu

Coastal Union are in the final stages of completing the signing of former TP Mazembe striker Thomas Ulimwengu following successful negotiations between the two parties.

Ulimwengu has opened the door to the move and is set to serve Coastal Union on a six-month contract running until the end of the current season.

The striker, who previously played for Soccer Akademia, Moro United, FC Väsby United and AFC Eskilstuna in Sweden, has been without a competitive club since parting ways with Fountain Gate on July 1, 2024.

Ulimwengu has also featured for TP Mazembe of DR Congo, FK Sloboda Tuzla of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Al-Hilal Omdurman of Sudan and JS Saoura of Algeria. His signing has been recommended by Coastal Union head coach Mohamed Muya, who is keen to add more firepower to his squad.

So far, Coastal Union have completed the signings of three players during the current mini transfer window. These include Shiza Kichuya, formerly of Simba and Namungo and who parted ways with JKT Tanzania this season; striker Abdulkarim Segeja from Tanzania Prisons; and another forward, James Msuva, who was also unattached before joining the club.
