Simba SC have continued to strengthen their squad after confirming the signing of attacking midfielder Anicet Oura, an Ivorian national who was previously playing professional football in Finland.
Oura, 26, has joined the Msimbazi Reds as a free agent following the expiry of his contract with Finnish club IF Gnistan, a move that provides Simba with a significant boost ahead of the second half of the season.
The player is known for his versatility, being capable of operating in multiple positions on the pitch, including right wing, left wing, and as a number 10 attacking midfielder, giving head coach Steve Barker a wide range of tactical options.
Oura’s signing is reported to be a personal recommendation from coach Barker, who previously worked with the player at South African club Stellenbosch FC before Oura’s move to Finland.
During the 2023/24 season with Stellenbosch, Oura delivered an impressive performance, scoring eight goals in 35 matches across all competitions, establishing himself as an influential contributor in the attacking third.
Oura’s arrival is expected to add creativity, pace, and competition within Simba’s squad, particularly as the club competes on both domestic and international fronts.
