Simba Suffer Third Straight CAF Champions League Defeat Against Esperance

Simba have suffered their third consecutive defeat in the CAF Champions League (CAFCL), going down 1–0 to Esperance in Tunisia.

Simba started the match at a high tempo and missed an early opportunity through Jonathan Sowah after his shot from inside the box was saved by the Esperance goalkeeper.

The only goal of the match was scored by Jack Diarra, who outpaced Simba right-back Shomari Kapombe before calmly slotting the ball into the net.

Simba dominated much of the second half, but failed to create clear-cut chances as Esperance’s defense dealt with all the danger in their penalty area.

This is not a good result for Simba, as they are now required to win all three of their remaining matches — two at home and one away.

Their next match will be against Esperance and is expected to be played next week at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium.

After that fixture, Simba will have two remaining matches against Petro Atletico (away) and Stade Malien (home).
