Young Africans SC (Yanga) head coach Romain Folz has called for more friendly matches before the team is officially unveiled during the climax of Mwananchi Week on September 12 at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium.
After three weeks of physical conditioning, Folz has now shifted focus to tactical preparations. To properly evaluate how ready his squad is, he insists that additional friendlies are the best way to measure progress.
So far, Yanga have played four warm-up games this pre-season, including one against their U20 side. The other three were against Rayon Sport, Fountain Gate, and Tabora United — all of which ended in victories for the Tanzanian champions.
Tomorrow, Yanga are scheduled to test themselves against JKT Tanzania as part of their continued preparations.
The Mwananchi Day showdown against Kenya’s Bandari FC will come just four days before Yanga’s highly anticipated Community Shield clash against rivals Simba SC
