Fadlu Davids Sees Progress in Simba Pre-season Training

Simba head coach Fadlu Davids says his squad has begun to show improvements in their style of play after two weeks of pre-season training in the city of Ismailia, Egypt.

Yesterday, Simba played a friendly match against Egyptian Premier League side Kahraba Ismailia, a game that ended with the “Wekundu wa Msimbazi” securing a 2-0 victory, with goals scored by Mohamed Bajaber and Jonathan Sowah in each half.

Speaking after the match, Fadlu noted that his squad had shown many positive signs after a short period of training in Egypt.

“We played against a good team; it was a competitive match. If you compare our performance from our last game last season to where we are now, you can see we’ve made progress.”

“In the first half, apart from the goalkeeper and a few players, we started with many new players, but they were able to play according to our system.”

“In the second half, we changed the entire team, with only one player continuing from the first half. We continued to play well, and the players increased the pace and overall team morale.”

“It was a match in which we could have scored maybe three or four more goals. I’m satisfied, but the work is not done yet; we still have things to work on in training,” said Fadlu.

The Simba squad will continue training in Ismailia for a few more days before heading to Cairo, where they will play more friendly matches.
