The transfer saga of Yanga SC striker, Clement Mzize, has taken a new twist after the club’s leadership made it clear they will not sell the player based on his agent’s proposals, but rather on the player’s true market value and timing.
Yesterday, Tunisian club Esperance submitted an official bid to Jangwani to sign Mzize, but the Tanzanian Premier League champions immediately rejected it.
It should be remembered that Yanga had already agreed to sell Mzize to Umm Salal of Qatar for $900,000. However, that deal collapsed due to the lack of personal agreement between the player and the club, with the main obstacle being the stance of Mzize’s agent, who does not want his client to join the Qatari side.
Instead, the agent proposed that Yanga allow Mzize to join Egypt’s Al Masry, although the club submitted a low offer of $600,000 — significantly below the valuation set by Yanga.
Sources reveal that the agent does not have a good relationship with Yanga’s management, a situation that has fueled repeated tensions. Even when Zamalek SC expressed interest in signing Mzize, the move was halted after the player’s side increased costs beyond the terms of the initial agreement.
For now, Mzize’s future remains uncertain, with Yanga insisting that the club’s interests and the player’s dignity take precedence over the agent’s demands.
