On Saturday, August 2, 2025, Tanzania’s national football team, Taifa Stars, will play its opening match in the 2024 CHAN tournament, hosting Burkina Faso in the first game of the competition, which is being held for the first time in the East African region across Mainland Tanzania, Zanzibar, Kenya, and Uganda.
Tanzania has been given the special honor of hosting the opening ceremony of the tournament.
It is clear that CAF chose Tanzania to launch the tournament due to the passionate support of its fans, as the country has consistently shown strong stadium attendance.
