Yanga SC Unveils Moussa Balla Conte as First Signing; More Deals Pending

Yesterday, Yanga SC unveiled their first signing of this transfer window – defensive midfielder Moussa Balla Conte, who joined from CS Sfaxien.

Conte arrived in the country early yesterday and signed a three-year contract that will keep him in Jangwani until July 2028.

Initially, Yanga had planned to begin announcing new signings on Sunday, July 20, but uncertainty surrounding Conte’s signing forced club officials to clear the air early, as there were widespread claims that the player had refused to join Yanga despite the club finalizing terms with CS Sfaxien.

This is Yanga’s first officially unveiled signing. Further transfer updates are expected next week, which will be the final week before the pre-season preparations begin.

In an interview two days ago, Yanga’s Media and Communications Manager Ali Kamwe revealed that, so far, only one more signing remains before the club closes its transfer activity for this window.

According to insider sources, these are the players who have already signed with Yanga:

  • Moussa Balla Conte (Defensive Midfielder)
  • Mohamed Doumbia (Central Midfielder)
  • Offen Chikola (Attacking Midfielder)
  • Celestin Ecua (Attacking Midfielder)
  • Abdulnasir Mohammed (Defensive Midfielder)
  • Aboubakar Nidhar Otham (Center Back)

Reported pending signings include:

  • Mohammed Hussein (Left Back)
  • Feisal Salum (Attacking Midfielder)

Additionally, reports suggest Yanga might pursue two more signings – a center-back and a striker – especially if Clement Mzize’s transfer to Zamalek materializes.

Yanga has also been linked with two Congolese defenders: Hennock Inonga, who is a free agent after leaving FAR Rabat, and Kevin Mondeko, who terminated his contract with USM Alger.
