National team striker, Mbwana Samatta 'Samagol', is mourning the loss of his father, Ally Pazi Samatta.
The late Mr. Samatta passed away on the morning of this Sunday at his home in Mbagala, Dar es Salaam. His death has been confirmed by his son, Mohamed Samatta.
According to information from family relatives, Mr. Samatta had recently been struggling with health issues.
"He passed away today at home. He hadn’t been sick for long, and just the other day he told me, ‘Come and see me, my son’... It's so sad," said one of the close family members.
During his lifetime, Mr. Samatta was a renowned striker who played for several clubs and represented the national team, wearing jersey number 10. He was a well-known figure in his community and was highly respected for the way he raised his children—especially Mbwana, who has become a symbol of Tanzanian football internationally.
