The matches of the 30th round of the NBC Premier League concluded today, with Tanzanian football giants Yanga, Simba, and Azam FC all securing wins, while Prisons and Fountain Gate find themselves heading into play-offs.
Yanga secured a 5-0 victory over Dodoma Jiji, marking their second consecutive 5-goal win after thrashing Prisons by the same scoreline in their previous match.
Yanga continue to strengthen their position at the top of the table with 79 points, now needing just a single point to clinch the league title.
Their arch-rivals Simba kept their title hopes alive with a 1-0 win over Kagera Sugar. Simba now have 78 points—just one behind Yanga.
Azam FC emerged victorious with a 3-2 win over Fountain Gate, maintaining their place in third position on the league table.
Meanwhile, Singida BS were held to a 3-3 draw by Prisons, remaining in fourth place.
These results were not enough for Prisons to escape the play-off zone, a fate they now share with Fountain Gate.
