With just a few days remaining before the second leg of the CAF Confederation Cup final against Morocco's RS Berkane, uncertainty still surrounds the venue of this crucial match. The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has scheduled the game to take place at the New Amaan Complex Stadium in Zanzibar on Sunday, May 25, 2025, at 6:00 PM EAT.
However, Simba SC has yet to issue an official statement either accepting or opposing that decision.
Through his Instagram page, the club’s Media and Communications Manager, Ahmed Ali, released a message aimed at calming the nerves of fans and club members, emphasizing that major efforts are underway behind the scenes to ensure Simba receives fair treatment and a suitable environment to play this historic match.
"Happy Monday fellow Wana Simba. I understand that many of us are in a state of confusion about the venue for our return match," wrote Ahmed.
"As we stated earlier, the club will issue an official announcement after our first leg in Morocco. Our leaders, in all relevant authorities, are working hard to secure the best outcome for Simba"
Ahmed stressed that such a major and impactful change could not be accepted without careful deliberation and active efforts to find a solution.
"Changes of this magnitude and impact cannot just be received passively without making an effort. So I kindly ask all Wana Simba to remain calm. In the coming short period, we will know our path forward"
Despite the ongoing uncertainty about the venue, Ahmed urged fans to continue supporting the team and confirmed that preparations to face Berkane are going on as planned.
"Nevertheless, preparations to take down Berkane should continue as normal. We are carrying them — be it under the sea, in the wilderness, or atop the mountains — wherever, we are carrying them," he wrote.
For now, the eyes and ears of Simba SC fans and Tanzanian football lovers remain on the club’s leadership, awaiting an official statement on the match venue. Hopes are high that the club will succeed in securing a fair, safe, and fan-friendly environment for the second leg of the final.
