Msukuma confronts Minister Kabudi over Kariakoo Derby saga

Geita Rural MP Joseph Msukuma has advised the Government to make the league board independent instead of being subordinate to the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF)

In addition to the advice, Msukuma has also asked the Minister for Sports, Professor Paramagamba Kabudi, to explain what he encountered internally at the Simba and Yanga reconciliation session which lasted until 4pm

The MP made the statement today, Wednesday, May 7, 2025, while contributing to the Ministry's Estimated Revenue and Expenditure Speech for the year 2025/26 where the Ministry has requested Sh519.66 billion

Msukuma has urged TFF leaders to emulate the example of the late TFF president Leodgar Tenga who he says did a good job that should be emulated even to make him continue to be respected in the sports industry in the country

'He worked well and is a role model, emulate the way he led He is respected otherwise you will finish your sessions and then you will be in trouble, you will not know what you did," said Msukuma

He has asked the Minister of Sports, Professor Kabudi, to explain what he encountered in the meeting that brought together the leaders of Simba and Yanga which kept him up until four in the night because it has been a mystery when people want to know

"What you heard, tell us and we will hear so that we can inform our citizens, Simba and Yanga football is happiness, but when there are conflicts then you become silent and I have not seen anywhere where you mentioned those conflicts even in one place when His Excellency the President knows about sports and has provided a plane to take Simba to Morocco," he said.
