The Minister of Information, Culture, Arts and Sports, Professor Palamagamba Kabudi has scheduled a meeting with leaders of the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF), the Tanzania Premier League Board (TPLB) and Yanga Club to resolve the ongoing dispute over the postponement of their Mainland Premier League match against Simba
According to a statement issued on Monday, March 24, 2025, the meeting will be held in Dar es Salaam on Thursday and officials from Yanga, Simba, TFF and the Premier League Board have been informed and will attend
"It is true that we will meet with Minister Kabudi on various issues, including the postponement of our match against Simba. We have received the letter and we will attend," said a Yanga official who requested anonymity
The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Information, Culture, Arts and Sports, Gerson Msigwa confirmed that the meeting will be held in Dar es Salaam chaired by Minister Kabudi. Msigwa also explained Simba officials will participate in the meeting
The match, which was scheduled to take place on March 8 at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium, was postponed after Simba claimed that Yanga commandos refused them entry to the stadium for their pre-match training
Simba issued an official statement to the Premier League Board and TFF, stating that they would not participate in the match because their right to practice before the match had been violated, as stipulated in the league board's regulations. On the other hand, the League Board insisted that the match would be played as scheduled, in accordance with the league's regulations.
