Simba Head Coach Fadlu Davids is hopeful of doing well in the Confederation Cup quarter-final match against Al Masry where the first leg will be played on April 02 in Egypt and the return match will be played at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium on April 09
Fadlu said his team is now stronger than when they started the season, they know they will face a tough match in Egypt but they will need to fight and at least score an away goal
"We will go to Egypt knowing it will not be an easy match away but I am happy to see my players are now ready and they understand the environment we will face"
"We have a young team with many players who do not have experience with international competitions, but the preliminary and group stage matches have helped to strengthen them significantly"
"Finishing first in the group stage is a big thing that has increased our confidence heading into this next stage"
"We will have to play "We will be very careful away so that we have a chance to advance in the second match we will play at home. Our goals are to see us go far in this tournament," said Fadlu.
Fadlu also noted that his team's success should not depend on one player, every player in his squad is important
He said that in order to do well in all the tournaments they participate in, it is necessary to have a wide squad that will give space to every player.
"When I was at Orlando Pirates, we played in the 2022/23 Confederation Cup final but we did not have a wide squad, we used the same players in every match"
