The Disciplinary Committee of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has dismissed Guinea's appeal against Tanzania, thus guaranteeing Taifa Stars to participate in the African Nations Finals (Afcon 2025) in Morocco
Guinea made the appeal after the 143rd Afcon qualifier game between them and Tanzania played at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium, Dar es Salaam, on November 19, 2024 asking the CAF disciplinary committee to remove Tanzania from the 2025 Afcon finals claiming it did the offense of violating the rules
According to the appeal, Guinea claimed that the player Ibrahim Ame of Tanzania who entered the second half of the match in which Tanzania won 1-0 had a different number on the jersey compared to the one on the list of players. to be used in that match
Guinea asked the CAF disciplinary committee to exclude Tanzania and then give them the chance to play in Afcon 2025
However, the CAF disciplinary committee that sat on December 19, this year has decided that the result of the game will remain as it was and Tanzania will retain the right to participate in Afcon 2025

"The CAF disciplinary committee has agreed that the storage of evidence made by the Guinea Football Federation during match number 143, Tanzania vs Guinea is acceptable in form"
"However, you have been rejected as there is no basic argument," explained the statement of the Guinean Football Federation
