The Al Hilal team, today Tuesday November 19, 2024 has started a journey from Libya to Tanzania for the African Champions League game against Yanga, which is expected to be played on November 26 at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium, Dar es Salaam
When the team started the trip, the head coach of the team, Florent Ibenge said he only had four days to prepare for the game against Yanga.
Ibenge has pointed out that the four days have come due to the fact that he currently has only 13 players while a large group have responsibilities in their national teams to play matches to qualify for Afcon 2025
"I can't say that I have prepared the squad for that match (against Yanga) because while in Libya I only had 13 players, others were on their national team duties"
"I can say I have only four days to prepare my team with all the players," said Ibenge.
On their trip to Tanzania, Al Hilal came from Mauritania and set up an eight-day camp in Libya and played two friendly matches, one winning 2-0, the other coming from a draw against Al Ittihad.
Due to the fact that in Sudan the league stopped for a long time due to the uneven security situation, Al Hilal is currently participating in the Premier League in Mauritania where it has played seven matches and won five while drawing two, leading the league with 17 points.
Yanga and Al Hilal will meet in the first game of Group A in the CAF Champions League.
