The international player of Al Ahly and the Egyptian national team, Emam Ashour has been sentenced to six months in prison for hitting a security guard
Ashour was initially found not guilty by the Court of First Instance, but the prosecution appealed the decision, resulting in a six-month prison sentence handed down by the Court of Appeal
Ashour's lawyer, Mohamed Othman, said the sentence was given without being present in court
Othman explained that neither Emam Ashour nor his legal team were informed about the appeal and as a result, they did not attend the hearing
Emam's lawyer confirmed that they will appeal against the decision, which will temporarily suspend the sentence
