Coastal Union Club has denied wanting to bring back its former coach, Juma Mgunda to improve the team
The Club's Information Officer, Abbas El Sabri, has said that the reports of Mgunda wanting to return to Coastal Union are not true, but he admitted that the leaders are in the process of searching for a Head Coach and people from the technical bench
Sabri said Coastal has had to make this clarification due to many reports that link the team to Mgunda, who has finished his two-year contract with the Simba club
"There is no information about Juma Mgunda in our club, we know he was our player in the past and served with great success, he was also a coach and did great things"
"To say we don't need him is to disrespect him, but at the moment there are no plans to talk to him, instead the leadership is still continuing the process of searching for the Head Coach and the technical bench people, but not Mgunda, the team is under the Coach Joseph Lazaro who is acting and has been doing well and the leaders have shown confidence in him," said El Sabri
Rumors say that the clubs that were eyeing Mgunda are Coastal and Namungo. Before landing at Simba, Mgunda was the coach of Coastal and was taken to fill the position of Zoran Maki who left the club early before the league and the international games started, he enabled it to reach the group stage, African Champions League
