Government conglatulate on VAR

The government has said that the availability of VAR, which will be used in the Tanzania Mainland Premier League next season, will reduce the complaints that were being thrown at the referees for what seemed like they were not making the right decisions

Speaking yesterday at the launch event of the popular referee support video as VAR, held at Banjamin Mkapa Stadium, Dar es Salaam, the Prime Minister of the United Republic of Tanzania, Kassim Majaliwa, said the presence of the device will enable referees to their correct decisions because they will be able to repeat what they have not seen, so that the teams can get a legitimate victory

In addition, Minister Majaliwa, wanted the stadiums that are not of good quality, to be kept aside because towards the next Premier League season, they will destroy the appeal of the league itself

"I congratulate President Karia (Wallace) for his great efforts since he started managing the Football Federation, we have achieved great success through football, and with these improvements I believe Tanzania will rise to fourth place in the African League due to this investment," said the Prime Minister

He said the government wants the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF), to continue to cooperate with companies that have invested in the promotion of various sports abroad and within the country, in order to promote the country's football and promote it abroad, as well as to market Tanzanian players.< /p>

And the President of TFF, Karia, said that they have decided to keep the number of 12 foreign players despite many stakeholders wanting that number to be reduced

He said the reason is that Tanzanian clubs have achieved great success in recent years due to having foreign players, where before that they were not doing well

"According to the statistics we have, foreign players have not reached 70 out of the 600 players who participate in the Premier League, so our players need to come out to be challenged and not us to reduce the number of foreign players," said President Karia

He said that foreign players have increased the competition in the Premier League and contributed to the growth of the standards of local players, to the extent of helping the national team to do well

"When we were playing with DR Congo and Zambia, most of the Tanzanian players were from the local league and small, but they did very well to the surprise of many, because they no longer have the fear of being afraid of foreign players, every day they play with the same players in the league or are in the same team, that has helped us a lot as a nation," he said
