The CECAFA Senior Challenge, which this year will be held here on the islands of Zanzibar, has been moved forward to July 6, instead of June 29, the previously scheduled date
Secretary General of the Zanzibar Football Federation (ZFF), Hussein Ahmada Vuai says the move forward of the tournament is due to reasons that are beyond their control, including the request of the sponsors who have asked to be held that month
He said their expectation in the competition is that there will be strong competition for the participating countries, which will now start from July 6 to 21, this year
Vuai said the preparations are going well and the CECAFA team, which had an inspection of the infrastructure as a whole for school competitions for young people, had the opportunity to inspect the entire infrastructure of Zanzibar for the initial stage
In addition, he said the inspection team is expected to come again to do the inspection due to their procedures, although they are satisfied with the state of the local infrastructure
