Yanga head coach, Miguel Gamondi has said his team has a chance to win against Mamelodi Sundowns and reach the semi-finals of the African Champions League
If you follow various discussions especially on social networks, you will see that many give Yanga a small chance to cross in front of Mamelodi, however Gamondi believes that nothing is impossible because only 11 players for each team will be on the field
Yanga will host Mamelodi at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium on March 30 and after that the teams will meet again on April 5, this year, in South Africa and the overall winner will advance to the semi-finals
Gamondi, who once coached Mamelodi, has said he has no worries about facing his former employers, believing his players will be ready to face them
"The important thing for us is to plan and put effort, we have no reason to fear this game because each team will have 11 players and 90 minutes will be played at home and away"
"The only thing that can bother us a little is the experience of some players in this tournament but I also believe that we have players who have played at this level of competition whose presence will help build the others," he said p>
In recent years, Mamelodi Sundowns has been getting opponents from North Africa in the knockout stages, the last time they had opposition in the South of the Sahara Desert was in the 2021/22 season when they were kicked out by Petro Atletico
Perhaps this could also be a chance for Yanga to stun the giants of South African football who are looking for a second Champions League title having won the title for the last time in 2016
