The Minister of Culture, Arts and Sports, Damas Ndumbaro has said that the Government will meet with the Football Federation in the country and the Simba and Yanga clubs to see what contribution it can make to ensure that the teams do well in the quarter finals and move forward.
Minister Ndumbaro has said among other things, he has asked the fans to stop receiving fans and to know that these quarter final matches are life and death and what is required is to ensure that our teams win.
He said the Government will eat the same dish with the fans who will go to receive the guests at the airport and support them.
"Last week we made a statement, the government wants to sit with Simba, Yanga and TFF, so that they tell us as a government, what contribution do we need to make so that the teams win the quarter-finals and enter the semi-finals. We can meet on Tuesday next week to plan strategies. "
"Tanzanians, I should pray a lot, I know there are traditional jokes, but in these quarter final matches, they are life and death matches, we do not expect to see any Tanzanian going to receive guests at the airport, or wearing the jerseys of the foreign teams."
"We as the Government will not leave this to TFF or Simba and Yanga, so if we struggle with someone we will see as a traitor. We ask Tanzanians to understand and forgive us because we want these teams to succeed."
"We have been the only country that managed to enter two teams this year, but once you have achieved success, you should not spend too much time celebrating that success, you need to look at what you are doing to continue to achieve more success," he said
