After leading Yanga to reach the quarter-finals of the CAF Champions League, Yanga Head Coach Miguel Gamondi has said that they are focusing their energy in the premier league matches to ensure that Yanga defends the championship for the third season
Gamondi has entered the history books of Yanga after completing 25 years of waiting for Wananchi to play in the group stage of the Champions League assuring them to play in the quarter finals
Gamondi has said that he and the technical bench feel proud for enabling Yanga to achieve that success, but the work is not over yet, now they are putting energy into the major league matches while waiting for the draw for the quarter finals
"It was not easy to achieve the goals but it has been possible due to unity and cooperation from the technical bench, players, leaders and fans"
"I am happy to be part of the history of this club, 25 years is a lot, but this time we have succeeded and we have a chance to do better"

The next game for Yanga is against Namungo Fc will be played on Friday, March 08 at Majaliwa Stadium, Lindi
Yanga is at the top of the league standings with 43 points, the same as Azam Fc, which ranks second in terms of goal difference
However, Azam Fc have played 19 matches while Yanga has only 16 matches
