Yanga Information and Communication Manager Ali Kamwe has said that the Yanga team will leave the country today for Egypt for the final game of the Champions League group stage against Al Ahly. The game will be played on Friday, March 1, at 1 pm Tanzania time
Kamwe announced the entire itinerary for the trip to Yanga which will start at 05:55 pm this evening
"We will leave Tanzania at 05:55 pm with Ethiopian Airlines. We will rest in Ethiopia for two hours before boarding a flight to Cairo where we will arrive in Cairo around 1 am"
"The team will reach the five-star Royal Kempisky Hotel. We are leaving with a delegation of 60 people that will include 24 players, 13 technical bench and 23 other leaders and seniors"
"We are not going to Cairo to surprise Pyramids, but we are going to look for a victory to finish at the top of the group. We want to be the first in the standings so that we have a chance to play against the team that will finish second in the other groups"
"But we also want a win so that we have a chance to start away from home in our quarter-final game. Winning against Al Ahly will be a record for them to win on Egyptian soil," said Kamwe
He has never announced to ensure that the people have the opportunity to witness the game together, so they have prepared a procedure at the club's Headquarters, Jangwani
"On Friday, at the Club Headquarters, Jangwani, we will close the 'Big Screen' for Members, Fans and lovers of Yanga to come and enjoy this thing together"
In another step, Kamwe has congratulated Yanga family members for making Pacome Day a success
"I congratulate the technical bench and the players for achieving our goals of qualifying for the quarter finals. The technical bench has done a great job of preparing our team and as a result we have qualified"
"It was not easy to score 4 goals against CR Belouizdad which has played 180 minutes against Al Ahly without conceding a goal"
"Their last game against Al Ahly played in Algeria, Al Ahly did not even shoot on-target. This victory has shown how much Yanga is prepared to compete"
"But I also congratulate the members and fans for making Pacome Day great. This is the biggest sporting event that took place in the CAF matches at the weekend. The country's president Hon. Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan said Yanga has made the country happy, so it is our duty to continue to please the country" said Kamwe
