Information and Communications Manager of Simba Ahmed Ally has said that fans deserve congratulations for winning the award for the best fans of the African Football League that ended yesterday in South Africa
Ahmed said the award recognized the strength of Simba fans in African football and it is the duty of every Simba fan to protect this honor given to them by CAF by supporting their team even in difficult times
"Congratulations to Simba fans, you deserve this honor, you have shown the difference between football fans and those who drink soup. We should protect and be proud of this reputation because not everyone can be better. Protecting this reputation includes being patient when the team goes through difficult times"
"We have defeated the Wydad fans who we always believe are the best, we have defeated the Al Ahly fans who we always believe is the best football, we have defeated the Esparance fans who know how to really cheer. We have defeated the Mamelod fans who despite having free entry but do not reach our quality, " said Ahmed
The award was received by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Simba club Salim Abdallah 'Try Again' in an event held yesterday after the game between Mamelodi Sundowns against Wydad, the game that gave Sundowns the AFL championship
